Korri :: Bridals

Getting to shoot with Korri and Daniel has been nothing short of a photographer's dream. Having a beautiful couple in front of my lens, who both happen to make a career through art themselves, was really a treat for my last wedding in October.

We shot Korri's bridal photos on location in downtown Russellville a month before the wedding itself and, despite the heat of an Arkansas September, the day was just magic! Korri and Daniel chose to marry at a home of a friend in the downtown district. Oddly enough, I had spent a good part of my 20's living on the same street, just a few blocks down, and had never paid a second thought to this house! It was a small home, appearing even smaller due in large part to the newly-renovated, larger houses around it. Nestled behind large bushes (probably to help with the shade we so desperately need in Arkansas summers!), the home is attached to a neighboring lot, surrounded by dense bushes that keep it secluded from the street. Walking past it, you wouldn't think it stands out much, as many of the houses on that street have the same classy-yet-comfortable charm from the street view. However, upon entering the house and the yard, I instantly felt the magic that Korri and Daniel felt when choosing this cozy and unique location for their vows.

The house, owned by a respected and talented local artist, Sarah Johnson Keathley, is home to beautiful original art work - both her own and the art of others, including the groom himself! There were twinkling stringed lights adorning the leaf-covered lattice in the backyard, and a tiny restored camper glistened in the golden hour light. I stepped out onto a screened-in porch that had the most perfect little bed and reading light. You could practically feel the breeze as Sarah described the quiet joy of a rainy night spent reading in that bed.

We kept most of the home details for the wedding photos, because our focus that day was the beautiful simplicity of our bride, Korri. I have to say, these were particularly easy photos to take and particularly difficult photos to keep a secret! These photos really do speak for themselves, as Korri's inner beauty was captured in leaps and bounds. I truly hope you enjoy them as much as we did and that you will be looking for wedding photos coming soon!
